Ella features the most… its almost amazing. Her organic innocent ability. I see nothing but pure beauty …but thats my job, I can’t see anything else… she is my daughter and if I didn’t think that every inch of her was beautiful there would definitely be something wrong. Her sisters are younger and not as patient…. their time will come and when it does I know they will shine. But for now I have Ella as my muse and that brings me copious amounts of joy.
I know I have been only posting one photo here and there but I have come to the conclusion that one is better than none!!! The shots that have been posted over the last few days have all been from my trip to Australia earlier in the year… a long time coming but finally picking through the bunch. I am truly enjoying the stillness of winter however frozen toes are not on my list of grateful things. Happy frost everyone

Like a breath of fresh air….. a jolly good slap in the face. God how many excuses did I need to make in my head, its too cold, I’m too tired, there’s too much work to be done…. thats all they were….damn excuses. \
I have been hunting for my photo mojo and it kept ducking and diving avoiding me like the plague… I bring it with me to organized shoots, but how come I wasn’t doing anything for me? So I made a decision, all be it a rather crazy decision, I decided I wanted to go back to the old days (1999) and give film another shot (pardon the pun). A few months back I had my eye on a camera that made my heart flutter…. it was a must have…. a yearning… sleepless nights… sadly I had to prioritize my life and the ‘deal’ fell through. I flunked into a bad mood and forgot about how important it was (to me) until I found another…. just the same…. and the time was right…. cha ching!!
Today 20 rolls of 220 medium format film arrived to greet my brand new CONTAX 645 (swooon) I am officially a medium format camera owner!!! And today I went shooting!!! I couldn’t get out the door quick enough, like a deep big breath of really really fresh air… all my mind would scream was GOD I NEED YOU NOW!!!
The downside (or upside depending on how you look at things…. glass half full yadda yadda) film is a process and needs to be processed. Due to my perfection I will be sending it to the US of A. SO no examples as yet however when they do come back and if I am game enough to share (encouragement needed) I will post them. However I did bring my lifeline digital camera to the shoot… soooo here are a few of my perfect girl… oh and by the way there were no animals harmed in the making of this post!!! xxxx
Tomorrow is a day where my small people will celebrate their days, the days that they were born, the days that changed my life forever, the best days of my life. Time is precious and they do grow fast, bullet fast, so quick that you want to grab them and say woooooahhhh slow down what’s the rush. I have said this before and I know I will say it again, cherish them, hard and heavy because before you know it they no longer want you to walk them to the bus, choose their outfits, kiss them in public, they grow and you wonder where the time went. The way they wiggle, the way their perfect little lips pout together. The delicate fingernails and their curly toes. Nothing is more precious and more blessed. I think I am incredibly lucky to spend time to capture these moments. Each bundle is different, but one thing is true, its impossible not to love them with every inch of your soul. How bless’d they are.

You know there are those times when you see something, something extraordinary, something that makes your skin get goosebumps and all you wish to do is take a picture of that something to remember it by. This utterly amazing country is FULL of these somethings, mountains covered in snow, trees turning the most awesome color of red, continuous fields of flowers. Sometimes its best to just look at breathe it in. I have tried on numerous occasions to record these masterpieces on the back of my camera however it just never looks like I see it.
A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be part of something special, the marriage of two people 100% in love, soul mates. Andrew and Michelle your love for one another is obvious, desperately so. Thank you for sharing your day….. thank you.
Receptions are always my favorite, this is when the nerves somewhat subside, the dancing shoes come on and everyone remembers why they are here.
It has almost been a year, oh how time flies!! I stepped off the plane with excitement and anticipation, I was meeting people I looked up to, people who I now proudly call my friends, some of Australia’s best!! Inspire me 2009 was a collection of AWESOME photographers getting together sharing their knowledge, jokes, challenges, and 2010 is going to be just as great!! I am now counting down the days, hours, minutes, when I can completely submerge myself in the presence of other like minded characters… who you ask???

To name just a few!!! And of course last but not least, none of this would have been possible if not organized by one amazing person!! Ainslie Bernoth who works endlessly to make sure the whole week is totally perfect!! She gives 100% of herself to help others and I thank her for that!!!… oh and for also introducing me to Nutella, my thighs will never be the same again!
And to the darling Robyn for making sure my little Quinn is cosy this winter.
Sometimes I like to write little notes to special people, and today on my blog I am writing a special note to a special person… so here it is
“Here comes the sun little darling, here comes the sun, and I say its allright”…. Pretend I am singing… quite difficult to do however if you had heard me singing out loud (which you have) you’d be glad that we are pretending right now.
Its been a sad week, but I just want you to know that tomorrow will be brighter, and time will heal, and no matter what I will always be here for you. xxxx And if you ever get lost …JUST SHAKE IT OFF!!!
